Built for railroad work
American-made railway brake sticks with purposeful reach, replaceable components, and no moving parts to complicate the job.
THE FUTURE LIGHT
The lineup
The right brake stick is not the longest or the lightest. It is the model your railroad has approved for the task, reach, clearance, and working environment.
ULRWBS gives purchasing teams a focused choice: the proven composite line or the ultra-light aluminum Future Light line—both built around a round shaft, UHMW polyethylene head, replaceable magnet, and replaceable head.

Purpose-built details
Fewer complications. Clear inspection points. Components you can identify, maintain, and replace.
Shaped working head described by the official catalog as non-conductive.
A direct round-shaft design without hinges, telescoping locks, or internal mechanisms.
Replacement heads and magnets are available separately from the official catalog.
The installed magnet carries an 84.4-lb manufacturer pull-force rating.
Use within the rules
Employer approval, task-specific training, inspection, job briefing, PPE, and local operating rules remain mandatory.
Aluminum conducts electricity. Do not use any ULRWBS model as electrical protective equipment unless your employer has separately tested and approved it for that purpose.
Inspect the shaft, grip, head, fasteners, magnet, labels, and overall condition.
Tag or isolate any tool with damage, looseness, excessive wear, modification, or uncertain condition.
The pull-force figure is not a safe working load. Never use the magnet for fall protection, lifting, or rigging.
Built to be put to work

Straight answers
Still deciding? Contact ULRWBS directly for model, fleet, lead-time, or vendor-setup questions.
Compare only the models approved by your railroad. Consider required reach, listed weight, shaft material, stiffness, clearance, storage, inspection criteria, and work environment.
Yes. The official catalog lists UHMW replacement heads and replacement magnets separately. Match the replacement to the shaft and head style already approved by your organization.
It is the manufacturer's pull-force rating. Actual holding force can be reduced by paint, rust, dirt, surface shape, temperature, and contact area. It is not a safe working load.
Do not drill, heat, bend, or make unauthorized modifications. Use the specified parts and approved repair process, followed by any required post-repair inspection.
